How to Add Events to Your Wedding Registry

Every couple has their own, unique love story filled with special memories and meaningful events. For my fiancé and I, who met while playing in a band in our teens, music has and always will be a huge part of our story. Since getting engaged earlier this year (and even before if you look at my wedding inspo boards from years earlier) one thing has always been clear-  music was meant to be a huge part of our wedding as well. From having Save the Dates that look like concert tickets, to having a guest “guitar” for friends and family to sign, we’ve been thinking of all the ways we can tie music into our wedding day.

But why does our love for music need to be limited to just our special day? That’s where the idea of our wedding registry came to mind. While we will be needing new kitchen appliances and fresh linens, we also wanted to include something special to us and our love for music. This is how my fiancé and I will be adding music experiences to our wedding registry and how you can add special experiences to yours too! 

 

  1. Find Special Experiences for your Wedding Registry  

First things first, you definitely want to find an experience that is special for you and your fiancé. Do you love making food together? Why not add a cooking class to your registry? Maybe you have a favorite sports team. Why not add season tickets? Do you find yourselves frequenting a museum? You can add a museum membership to the list. My fiancé and I decided to add some cool music classes to ours. 

 

 

2. Select the Best Date and Time for your Event or Experience

For this step, you’re going to want to check your calendar book. Once you’ve selected the type of experience you want to add, pick a day and time that would work best for you and your fiancé. Be sure to select two tickets! 

3. Click the Add to MyRegistry.com Button at Checkout 

After you have made your selections, navigate to the checkout page and click your Add to MyRegistry.com Button located at the top right of your Chrome web browser. If you don’t yet have the MyRegistry.com extension button downloaded, you can add it for free here.

 

4. Confirm the Details 

Once you have clicked your Add to MyRegistry.com Button, you will see a pop-up where you can confirm the details. It is here that you want to ensure your guests will see all the correct information on your registry. To do this, make sure that the price displayed matches the total price seen on the checkout page of the experience’s website. You can also adjust the name of the experience under “Gift Title”. Just in case, you can also include the date, time, and ticket specifics under “Notes”. 

 

 

5. Add to Your Wedding Registry

Finally, after you have double-checked that all of the information is correct, you can click “Add Gift”. Once you return to your wedding registry page, you will see that your fun, creative, and special experience has been added!

 

Wedding Registry FAQs

How many registries should you have?

Technically you can have as many registries as you wish. However for your guests sake, it would make sense to be able to access all the various registries you might create from the big box stores or high end department stores from a single place. Syncing your registries with a single MyRegistry.com registry is a great way to do this.

How should you share your registry information?

Email, your wedding website, even text message for your close friends, possibly your invitation as well. There are many different ways to share your registry. You just want to make it as easy and unobtrusive as possible for your friends and family and guests to find the items you want.

Is it OK to ask for cash gifts?

Absolutely. We get asked this all the time. For many couples cash may be the preferred gift as they may have much of the household stuff already or they value experiences and time together more than material goods. Adding a cash fund to your registry is easy and you can let your guest know exactly why you’re asking for it.

How many items should be on a Wedding Registry?

It all depends on what you need and what you want. The wedding registry is a way to share with your friends and family all the items you’re looking for to help you start your marriage off on the right foot. We recommend focusing on the process with your partner and the actual number of items is of less importance.

How will people find my registry?

Finding your registry is easy! Google Search will actually pull your registry from the MyRegistry.com list of registries if a searcher uses the name or title you used when creating and naming your list. The same happens when you go to MyRegistry.com and type in a name in the Find a Registry or Gift List box at the top of the home page.
